This FAQ is intended for integration partners and their end users. For questions about the individual tokenized stocks and ETFs that back each portfolio, see the Ondo Stocks user FAQ.
01 · The basics
1. What are Ondo Intelligent Portfolios?
Ondo Intelligent Portfolios are professionally curated investment strategies delivered as single onchain tokens. Each portfolio token gives eligible investors outside the U.S. exposure to a weighted basket of tokenized assets that tracks a defined investment strategy, without needing to buy, weight, or rebalance individual positions themselves.2. How are Ondo Intelligent Portfolios different from ETFs and single tokenized stocks?
Ondo Intelligent Portfolios are tracker certificates issued under the same base prospectus as other Ondo Stocks. They are not ETFs, tokenized stocks, or tokenized ETFs. Here’s how they are different:- A single tokenized stock or ETF gives you exposure to one underlying asset. An Ondo Intelligent Portfolio token is backed by a weighted basket of Ondo tokenized stocks and ETFs, with target allocations and weights set by a model provider.
- An ETF is a fund whose shares are listed and traded on an exchange. An Ondo Intelligent Portfolio is not a fund: you do not own shares in a fund and it is not exchange-listed. You mint and redeem portfolio tokens directly with the Issuer, the token is freely transferable peer-to-peer (subject to certain jurisdictional and other restrictions), and every constituent, weight, and rebalance is visible onchain.
3. How is an Ondo Intelligent Portfolio different from buying the tokenized assets myself?
Portfolio tokens are built on the Ondo Stocks platform. Every Ondo Intelligent Portfolio is backed by the same tokenized stocks and ETFs that are available individually on the Ondo Stocks platform, invested according to a professionally constructed target allocation. Building the same exposure yourself would mean sizing and minting each position individually, tracking how the weights drift as prices move, and trading back to target on your own schedule. An annual service fee applies. See What fees do I pay?4. Who develops the strategies?
A model provider develops the portfolio strategy, selecting the assets and setting their base weights. Every Ondo Intelligent Portfolio follows a target allocation defined by its model provider, which may be Ondo or an institutional partner working with Ondo. The model provider constructs the model portfolio while Ondo implements and manages each portfolio onchain — executing the underlying basket trades, running the rebalancing process back to base weights, and operating minting and redemption. The model provider does not issue, sponsor, manage, or administer the portfolio tokens, does not hold or custody any assets backing them, and does not have any relationship with, or obligations to, tokenholders.5. Who can buy Ondo Intelligent Portfolios?
Ondo Intelligent Portfolios are generally available to non-US investors, subject to jurisdictional and other restrictions. Availability also depends on your residency location:- United States: Not available in the U.S. or to U.S. persons
- European Economic Area and United Kingdom: Available to qualified investors only
- Switzerland: Available to professional clients only
6. What are the key advantages of Ondo Intelligent Portfolios?
Ondo Intelligent Portfolios provide exposure to professionally constructed investment portfolios, each built into a single onchain token. Ondo Intelligent Portfolios unlock many of the same benefits that have traditionally only been available to professionally managed portfolios, and are built natively onchain:- Simple. A professionally designed portfolio in a single token.
- Precise. Exact exposure to a targeted portfolio, underpinned by tokenized assets.
- Transparent. Rebalances are visible onchain.
- Flexible. Freely transferable and composable across DeFi.
- Accessible. 24/7 global access (outside restricted jurisdictions).
- Efficient. Programmatic by design, so they can scale at low cost.
7. Do I own the underlying stocks and ETFs?
No. Portfolio tokens give you economic exposure to the portfolio’s performance, not direct ownership of the underlying securities. You can redeem your tokens for the total-return value of the portfolio, but you do not receive shareholder voting rights, information rights, or other shareholder rights from the issuers of the underlying securities.02 · Portfolio composition and rebalancing
8. What assets does a portfolio hold?
Each portfolio is fully backed by a weighted basket of Ondo tokenized stocks and ETFs — the same assets available individually on the Ondo Stocks platform — together with any cash in transit. Depending on the portfolio, constituents may for example include tokenized stocks, equity and fixed income ETFs, and crypto ETFs.9. Can I see a portfolio’s underlying assets?
Yes. Each portfolio’s product page shows its underlying assets, base weights, and estimated current weights, and every rebalance is visible onchain.10. What are base weights and current weights? How does rebalancing work?
Base weights are the model’s target allocations: the percentage of the portfolio that each constituent asset is intended to represent, as defined by the model provider. Current weights are the percentage each asset actually represents at a given moment, based on the current market value of the portfolio’s underlying assets. At each portfolio’s inception, the underlying assets are calibrated to the model’s base weights. As market prices move, the actual weights may naturally drift away from base weights — assets that outperform grow to a larger share of the portfolio, and assets that underperform shrink. This drift is normal and expected. Rebalancing adjusts the portfolio’s underlying asset allocation back to the model’s base weights. It changes only the share of constituent assets, not the asset mix in the portfolio. Portfolio weights are shown on each portfolio’s product page.11. How often do Ondo Intelligent Portfolios rebalance?
Portfolios generally follow a quarterly rebalance cadence, returning to their base weights each quarter. Each portfolio’s rebalance approach and frequency are different and set by its model provider. Rebalance frequency and the most recent rebalance date are shown on each portfolio’s product page.12. Do I need to do anything when a portfolio rebalances?
No. Rebalancing is executed by Ondo on behalf of all tokenholders and requires no action from you. Your token balance does not change when a portfolio rebalances — the underlying constituent weights are adjusted back to base weights, and every rebalance is visible onchain.13. Can the assets in an Ondo Intelligent Portfolio change? How often does it happen?
The portfolios currently available are fixed-weight portfolios, meaning model providers define a fixed asset selection and base weights where the constituents generally do not change. Fixed-weight portfolios will rebalance approximately every quarter to return the portfolio back to base weights. We may introduce dynamic-weight portfolios in the future where portfolio constituents may be added or removed from time to time, at the model provider’s discretion. Ondo Intelligent Portfolio tokens are generally available to mint and redeem from 9:30:00 am ET to 3:45:00 pm ET during regular US market trading hours. Minting and redemption close 15 minutes before the 4:00 pm market close so all underlying trades can complete while the market is open. If any constituent asset is closed for trading, minting and redemption are paused for that portfolio until the full basket is open again. For platform and security reasons, minting and redemption may be briefly unavailable around the market open and close. Ondo Intelligent Portfolios can also be traded in secondary markets across supported platforms 24/7.18. Is there a minimum investment amount?

19. How is an Ondo Intelligent Portfolio priced?
The price of a portfolio token reflects the weighted value of its constituent assets. Each token is backed by a basket of Ondo tokenized stocks and ETFs, plus any cash in transit, shown as a per-token value:20. Why is the price I’m quoted different from the displayed price?
The displayed price reflects the estimated value of the underlying basket. The quote you get when you transact is the price you can actually execute at, and it accounts for the cost of buying or selling every asset in the portfolio’s basket. The “main” price you see on the price chart of the product page is our estimate of the per-token value of the portfolio’s constituents, whereas the quote price is the result of our proprietary method for determining an execution price that we can guarantee. Those numbers should never be too different from one another, but that’s where you may see some minor discrepancies. If you are buying a portfolio token on the secondary market, whomever you are transacting with may be charging their own fees. You are also responsible for your own gas costs.
21. Can I see Ondo Intelligent Portfolio performance history?
Each portfolio’s live price data starts from its inception date. Where a portfolio token’s pre-inception price performance is shown, it is hypothetical, based on backtesting, and clearly labeled as such — it does not represent actual results. Performance after inception reflects actual results. Past performance, whether actual or hypothetical, does not guarantee future results.05 · Fees
22. What fees do I pay?
Each portfolio charges an annual service fee. The service fee covers the ongoing operations and maintenance of the portfolio, including rebalancing and investing and divesting the underlying assets. Minting or redeeming portfolio tokens will also incur a mint/redemption fee at the constituent level, in accordance with individual Ondo Stock fees. Learn more In addition, when a quote is generated for an investor to buy (or sell) a portfolio token, the price may be slightly more (or less) than the price at which the platform buys (or sells) the underlying assets, with any difference being retained by the platform. Investors are responsible for their own gas costs. Refer to each portfolio’s product page for the most up-to-date fee information. If portfolio tokens are acquired in the secondary market, fees may be charged to you by other parties.
