What is a model provider?

A model provider develops the portfolio strategy, selecting the assets and setting their base weights. Every Ondo Intelligent Portfolio follows target allocations defined by its model provider, which may be Ondo or an institutional partner working with Ondo.

What are the roles of the model provider vs the token issuer?

The model provider develops the portfolio strategy while Ondo implements and manages each portfolio onchain — executing the underlying basket trades, running the rebalancing process back to base weights, and operating minting and redemption.The model provider does not issue, sponsor, manage, or administer the portfolio tokens, does not hold or custody any assets backing them, and does not have any relationship with, or obligations to, tokenholders.

Who are the current model providers?

Our current portfolio lineup includes portfolios constructed by:
  • BlackRock — the BLKHIon, BLKDIGon, and BLKGRWon are portfolio strategies developed by BlackRock for Ondo.
  • Ondo — the MAG7Xon, BRAINon, YLD5on, and YLD8on are portfolio strategies developed by Ondo.
